Weight-Based Pricing Explained: Fair Pricing for Quality Meat
Share
When you’re shopping for chicken, beef, or other meat by the kilo, you might wonder how the final price is worked out. Here’s the short version: we charge for what you actually get, not a guess.
How it works
- Price per kg – Products like chicken breast, wings, drumettes, and whole chicken are sold at a price per kilogram. The amount you see at checkout is based on the weight option you choose (e.g. 6 kg, 12 kg, 20 kg).
- Average weight – The price shown is based on the average weight of the pieces we pack. Real pieces can be a bit over or under that average (e.g. a “3 kg” average might mean pieces between about 2 kg and 4 kg).
- Final price at packing – When we pack your order, we weigh what actually goes in the box. We then adjust the final price to match that real weight. So you pay for the exact kilos you receive—no more, no less.
Why we do it this way
- Fair for you – You’re not overcharged if a piece is under the average, and you only pay for what lands on your doorstep.
- Fair for us – We’re not giving away extra weight when pieces are heavier than average.
- Honest – Meat is a natural product; weights vary. Pricing by actual weight reflects that.
What you need to do
- Choose the weight option that suits your needs (e.g. 6 kg, 12 kg, 20 kg).
- Use the estimated price at checkout as a guide; the final amount will be based on actual packed weight.
- When we confirm your order and send your invoice or payment link, that figure will reflect the real weight and price.
We’ll always adjust the final price at packing so it’s fair for everyone. If you have questions about a specific product or order, just ask.
